Media Access and Municipal Court Cases
Presiding Judge Linda Cooke and Associate Judge Jeff Cahn are accessible to the media. They are willing to answer procedural questions and discuss general issues, but will not discuss pending cases or answer questions regarding the factors influencing a particular decision, as that is a matter of record. They prefer that questions be tendered in writing to the Court's clerk, although they are willing to entertain oral questions if timeliness is an issue and they are available. Neither Judge Cooke nor Judge Cahn are likely to contact the media to correct inaccuracies unless the inaccuracy is so glaring that it obviously requires correction.

The Boulder County District Attorney's office is responsible for prosecuting all violations of State law occurring in Boulder County, including misdemeanors, traffic offenses, drunk driving crimes, and felony offenses. The office also maintains a victim witness division. The division addresses itself to the needs of victims, providing crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and where possible, restitution. The District Attorney also maintains a Consumer Affairs Unit that protects consumers and businesses alike from fraudulent and deceptive trade practices.
