  • 8 Nov 2018
  • 12:00 PM
  • Bryan Cave Conference Room (One Boulder Plaza, 1801 13th Street, Suite 300)

Please join the Paralegal Section for their monthly CLE presentation, presented by Sarah Myers of the Colorado Lawyer Assistance Program.

Research shows that legal professionals are at an increased risk for developing compassion fatigue, secondary traumatization, depression, and anxiety. Dealing with unreasonable or difficult personalities and graphic forensic evidence increase these risks. This presentation will help you understand how to use the principles of emotional intelligence to help mitigate the negative effects of working in a stressful profession. In addition, effective and practical ways to communicate with difficult clients, manage your response to those clients, and mitigate the physical, emotional, and cognitive damage that can result from chronic stress and lack of self-care will be provided. You will also learn about the Colorado Lawyer Assistance Program (COLAP) and the confidential resources available to you and your colleagues.

$25 CLE, $15 New/Young Lawyers, $12 Lunch (Please choose from Turkey sandwich,Roast Beef sandwich, Veggie sandwich, Tuna sandwich, Ham sandwich, Salad w/meat)
