Related Background: Michael Travers, Mediator & Counselor at Law, has had a general practice in mediation since 1992, in law since 1993, and in collaborative law since 2001. His over-arching emphasis is on the importance of communication and understanding in the management and resolution of conflict. Prior to 1992, Travers’ had a brief introduction to mediation during his graduate studies in Counseling Psychology, and a subsequent period of informal application during his milieu therapy duties in clinical practice. He had similar brief introductions in the first couple years of law school, followed by a much deeper dive into mediation training and mediated clinic and court cases in his final year of law school.
