Please attend the BCBA/J-SUP/The Immigrant Legal Center Co-Hosted CLE: Colorado's Real ID Act and Legislative Update, presented by Casey Sherman.

Casey Sherman, Supervising Attorney of the ID Project with Colorado Legal Services, will discuss the REAL ID ACT and how it has impacted Colorado residents in obtaining Colorado IDs and Driver’s licenses. She will discuss in detail the primary elements, how Colorado must retain the information and what the other states’ requirements are. Since the passage of the REAL ID Act, many Coloradans have had great difficulty obtaining a Colorado ID.  This session will explain the requirements of the Colorado REAL ID Act and alternative methods to verifying identity to the DMV.

Ms. Sherman will also talk about the Department of Revenue’s Exceptions Processing, a unique system to Colorado.  She will cover complicated ID situations, for instance legal name changes for felons and social security and gender issues.  Lastly, Ms. Sherman will discuss the most recent legislative changes involving Department of Human Services and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

This CLE will be followed by a happy hour. Drinks and appetizers are included.
