Please attend the Longmont CLE presentation Proactively Troubleshooting Ethics Issues, presented by Karen Hammer, to be held at the Dickens Tavern on December 5.

In this CLE, you will have the opportunity to develop your own ethics troubleshooting protocol. Hammer has spent many years fielding Ethics Hotline calls for the Colorado Bar Association and recently was appointed chair of the Hotline.  Through this experience, she's heard a wide variety of lawyers in their initial attempts to troubleshoot ethics issues.  Whether or not you're a member of the CBA (with access to the Ethics Hotline), this CLE will prepare you to tackle potential ethics issues as they arise, determine whether you need additional help, and identify resources for assistance.

Hammer also serves on the Office of Presiding Disciplinary Judge's Hearing Board panel, deciding disciplinary cases. A case in which she wrote the dissent is currently being reviewed by the Colorado Supreme Court.  This CLE will briefly introduce participants to standards by which decisions about the scope of discipline are guided, information that is material to understanding the effects of decisions you make when ethics issues appear on your horizon.

Please come prepared to join in a lively and important conversation around the lunch table.
