Please attend the Natural Resources CLE Conservation Easement Law, presented by Peter Nichols.

Conservation easements are widely employed to conserve open space, wildlands, productive agricultural lands and historic structures.  A statute governs the creation and provisions of conservation easements in Colorado.  The State also has a tax credit available for conservation easements to foster donations to local governments and land trusts.  Unfortunately, there are numerous long-standing issues regarding the valuation of conservation easements and past claims for tax credits.  This CLE will cover the basics of conservation easements, an overview of their use and issues in Colorado, and current efforts to address ongoing controversies and the potential for revisions to the tax credit.

Lunch is included with registration fees.
