Please join us for the virtual CLE presentation Qualified Immunity and the Basics of Civil Claims Against Law Enforcement Officers presented by Jack Peters.

Qualified immunity and other issues surrounding civil claims against law enforcement officers have been in the news a lot recently. This area of the law can be opaque, so the goal of this program is to give a general overview of the area and its development through Supreme Court and Tenth Circuit precedent. This program will give an introduction for lawyers who don’t practice this type of law and will include an explanation of qualified immunity, the standards for some of the common claims made against law enforcement officers (excessive force, jail conditions, and others), municipal liability, and a brief overview of the recent law passed by the Colorado Legislature.

Zoom meeting room information will be sent to registered attendees the day prior to the presentation.
