Please join us for a live CLE webinar on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion topic The Importance of Pro Bono Service, presented by Gregor MacGregor. Special thanks to our event sponsor, Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP. This presentation offers 1 EDI credit.

Colorado Rule of Professional Conduct 6.1 states that every lawyer should aspire to complete 50 hours of pro bono representation, and the Colorado Supreme Court has a recognition program for those who complete this recommendation. This CLE will elaborate on the history of pro bono legal service, considerations for working with underrepresented populations in accordance with the Rules of Professional Conduct, and where to find pro bono work – including with the Acequia Assistance Project.

Gregor MacGregor is a Faculty Fellow at the University of Colorado Law School, where he directs the Acequia Assistance Project. The Project is a collaborative effort between the law school, students, and practicing water attorneys to provide pro bono legal services to underrepresented Hispano farmers in southern Colorado. Gregor has been involved in the Project since 2016, starting as a student and becoming a supervising attorney before becoming its director. The Project currently has a roster of 60 students and 10 supervising attorneys working with clients on their land, water, and business issues. Prior to joining academia, Gregor practiced water law for the US Army and in private practice, in addition to clerking for the Honorable Justice Melissa Hart.

This lunchtime program will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 pm via Zoom webinar. The Zoom link will be sent out to all registrants.
