Please join us on Wednesday, September 17 for a BCBA ADR law section CLE webinar: Cognitive Biases in Mediation: Understanding and Managing Psychological Traps in Settlement Negotiations.

Presented by Andrew Shoemaker

Drawing on research in behavioral economics and psychology, this session will explore how cognitive biases—including anchoring, loss aversion, confirmation bias, and zero-sum assumptions—can unconsciously shape negotiation behavior and outcomes. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of these phenomena and strategies for reducing their influence.

Andrew Shoemaker is a mediator, arbitrator and trial attorney handling complex business disputes.  He teaches mediation and negotiation as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Law School and is a founding member of Shoemaker Ghiselli + Schwartz LLC.
