    Please join the Elder Law section for their CLE presentation, entitled Mediation in Probate and Elder Law Matters. Judge Kim Goldberger will discuss effective and best practices for reaching a mutually agreeable resolution in probate, trust, and protective proceedings. This will include advantages of mediating early in such cases, dealing with the emotional aspects of these particular matters, preserving family and other ongoing relationships, and crafting solutions that meet the needs of the interested parties involved.

    Please join the Business Law section for their  CLE presentation Public Benefit Corporations presented by Jason Wiener of Jason Wiener|p.c.. 

    Jason will provide an overview of the structure and requirements of the Colorado Public Benefit Corporations Act and how and why they should be used for certain clients.  For clients organized as corporations or cooperatives and certified as B-Corps, there is an upcoming April 2018 deadline by which to become a Public Benefit Corporation.  Learn about how to assist clients in making the transition.

    This presentation will address the ethical and professional responsibilities of lawyers and mediators under the Colorado Code of Professional Responsibility and applicable codes of the American Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association and other governing bodies to the activities of lawyers and mediators in the negotiation and resolution of disputes. The session will also address the ways in which lawyers can address and overcome unprofessional conduct by other counsel and parties in the mediation context while advancing and advocating for their clients.
